So, for those who hadn't read my last post, I'm going to be reading 25 books in the coming year. I even started a Bookageddon Challenge group over on Buzznet with a surprising interest so far. So, here's my question. If I were to start a group here on LJ, would anyone actually join and participate? I won't if there's no interest, but it'd be neat. Anyone interested?
So for my own memory, I need to make an actual list of things I plan to read before I forget. I have a lot of stories sitting around, and whenever I finish one I forget what I was planning next even though I actually have a mental list. So, now I'm making the mental digital. This doesn't include the graphic novels either, just regular type books.
Recently Finished:
World War Z
Wicked, Son Of A Witch, and Lion Among Men
Stiff
Currently Reading:
H. G. Wells anthology - Finished The Time Machine, currently on The Island Of Dr. Moreau. I liked The Time Machine better so far.
Need To Read Still (own):
H. P. Lovecraft anthology
Jules Verne anthology
Sir Apropos of Nothing
Need To Read Still (still need):
Ray Bradbury anthology
Dante's stories anthology
Pride And Prejudice And Zombies (no, fucking seriously)
Beowulf
More stuff by Christopher Moore
Discworld series books!
Need To Reread:
World War Z again!
American Gods
Good Omens
Contact
Currently put aside:
Warped Passages by Lisa Randall
A Brief History of Nearly Everything
That horror anthology I bought but didn't like the first story
I am TOTALLY open to suggestions. I love hearing about new books, but I don't know what's good so I don't often pick them up. I'm known at work for being the guy who reads a lot, though honestly I only really read at work. I'm fixin' to change that. Generally I'm a slow reader, but I want to challenge myself.
Starting today, February 16th 2009, and ending one year from now, I plan to read twenty-five books. This includes the H.G. Wells one I'm reading now. I think that's easy enough, one every two weeks. Anyone want to join me in this? I'm kinda taking the cue from Ash and Nate anyhow, so I'll credit them with the idea.
Neat, now I have a point to living again. On that note, I'm off to read some fan fic ^_^
