GOD FUCKING DAMN! It's free comic book day and I had NO IDEA! I don't know if I'm gonna make it out today, which sucks. PLASLFDJ someone get me comics!

I have just fucked an enormous part of one of the pages for the comic. Fucked it so thoroughly I have to redraw the whole thing, I think. Maybe not, but still it is so fully fucked that right now? Right now, at 3:30am, I have to stop. I'm so annoyed right now.

Fuck you drawin' comix! I've given myself a deadline of friday for the full four pages to this comic, and I am dying. I'm having fun, but I am dying dead. I'm too slow, then I push myself to go too fast when it's crunch time.

Doesn't help anything that I thought of a neat one or two page comic I really want to draw, but am not allowing myself to do just yet.

I hate comics.

Sez, a new webcomic (of sorts) done by myself and my roommate Eric, has launched as of about two hours ago. It's a once-a-weekday one, so plenty for y'all to see.

My favorite radio station in LA, Indie 103.1, is being unplugged. WHAT the fuck? I'm not surprised that radio is being killed, but Indie was really awesome. I'm listening online right now before it's too late.

I really wish I'd have listened to way more Jonesy, Harmony In My Head, and Full Metal Jackie...


Deja vu.

Speaking of deja vu's, starting monday I have another new comic up and going online. This one is most likely to succeed-- partly 'cause Eric is co-doing it with me. No sneak-peaks! It'll ruin the fun. WATCH THIS SPACE!

I just found out that Fantagraphics Books is based in Seattle. Why does this make me unbelievably happy?

Speaking of comics, here's various bits of news:

Mon ami Mitch has, once again, come up with an idea too awesome for me to pass up. I don't know how many times I've vowed to never work with him on a project based on how much he flakes on them, but the boy just keeps coming up with outstanding ideas. The latest is tentatively called Suiciders, a short-run series about people who get caught up in a centuries long battle for control of the world. Long story short, they try to kill themselves and are given the choice to die, or join the fight and get awesome super powers. Also, if they die they go to hell (and they see what it's like). Neat. He'll probably flake, but it's fun to see.

I've come to a critical decision with Death Head that, somehow, makes writing the series seem easier. Rather then do one long solid story, I'm going to go at this a bit like Brian Wood's style of writing Demo and Local-- episodic tales about the world with the recurring character being Graham. This idea, seemingly, is perfect. I'm gonna start writing tonight. 12 issues, 36 pages each.

I feel awful for Vanessa. I got her all pumped for my comic Mercy, Colorado and she wants to draw it, but goddamnit I can't get myself to write it! Hopefully I can clear the cobwebs in my brain so I can do this. I've had this story in my head for years now, and I want to see it on paper, damnit!

I'm going to start working hard on a portfolio. Specifically a package for Death Head. I want to start submitting to publishers and seeing what may happen. I have a LOT to work on!

Con season is fast approaching, and there's a few I really want to go to. Here's a list of ones I'd totally love to hit up:
Wonder Con San Francisco, February 27 - March 1
Wizard World Los Angeles (Orange County, really), March 13 - 15. Get a chance to visit family then, too, so that'd be a good excuse ^_^
Emerald City Comic Con Seattle, April 4 & 5 (totally doable)
San Diego Comic Con - July 23 - 26, because I'll be DAMNED if I miss another one!!

I'm gonna try and do at least one one-page'r a week, just to get my comic stuff going.

Short list of things I'm doing:

- Rewriting and continuing my fan fic Feed Me To Stone, because it was good but so poorly done I lost interest. I've completely given up on Fluid and Because Baby I'm A Pirate (terrible, as it was for someone so I'll have to write another better one for them haha)

- Outlining a Chuck fic I'm planning to write titled 'Chuck Vs. The Termite' which introduces a new character and blah blah blah nobody cares ^_^

- Outlining the short stories for the comic anthology I want to do, and trying to figure out how to keep all the stories cohesive with each other, yet wholey original.

- Writing a true story for the book anthology of short stories on queers in the punk scene titled HARDCORE HEARTS.

- Outlining a 5-10 page fiction comic for it too.

- Now that I think I've figured out this issue with photoshop, Death Head should be back online starting thursday. But I'm gonna keep it a once-a-week comic until I catch up with myself.

- Should start working on coloring samples to convince Kenne (tyger_raven) and his artist guy to let me work on their comic The Night Patrol with them.

- Getting reading for NaNoWriMo.

- Watching Eric eat a milky way bar.

Oh, and photoshop has been treating me well today so far... Let's hope things stay that way.

Something is wrong with my mactop lately-- specifically when I use Photoshop-- so until I can either resolve the issue or can afford to find another alternative, Death Head is on hiatus. I know, WTF huh? I just started this. Kinda ruins a few other plans as well. Blah, I'll keep drawing it in the mean time.

So Death Head updated date this time. Drunk Duck, the site that hosts it, was being buggy and wouldn't let me load-- but now it is, so horray!

Also, big news: I've submitted my application for the Prism Comics queer creators grant. Wish me luck! Seriously, I wantz so hard. Hella work went into that-- I'll probably upload most of the application to show you what I mean.

Done with work for today, and have the next four days off. Time to rope in this comic submission. Can I get a hell yeah?

Oh yeah, most recent Death Head went up thursday. Forgot to mention. Think I might give up Oh So Sassy, no big loss really.
