O, hot Middle Eastern dad type guy who lives above the pool.

You walk around in shorts and no shirt most days, and that is enough to make me smile. But lo, today you stepped outside for a smoke upon your balcony in nothing but boxers, your fuzzy barrel chest, little round tummy, and shiny bubble butt out there for all the world to see, and another special surprise bulging forth, sometimes taking a peak.

O, hot Middle Eastern dad type guy. Thank you.

So the band, right? The one I posted about the other day that I'm trying to put together? It's coming together pretty well so far.

I just officially met Michael, the guy who's in the picture the post before this, after he responded to my craigslist posting and we've talked in length. He's a real cool kid, I like him. Smart, and he's really really fucking creative. Lot of potential in this kid. So I have a bass player.

Two nights ago I was plodding around the net trying to find any non-craigslist places I might be able to find other musicians. I came across one, BandMix.com, and perused the site a bit. I didn't have high hopes, but at one point (page 9 I think) I came across one-- the only 'punk, hardcore' drummer one. Who happens to be a chick. I estalk her a bit on myspace, but she didn't have much to go by, but I did notice she has IMPECCABLE taste in music. So I shot her an email on a whim.

I love when I trust my intuition. She responded back in the BEST way I could have imagined. NOT ONLY is she interested, she's totally a dyzzo and is EXCITED! I gave her a ring-a-ding-ding and talked for a bit. She's a real cool cat, and next week after she gets home from the OC to hang with her lady we're gonna meet up and jam. EXCITED!

I just need to find a guitarist. WISH ME LUCK!

You've all heard so much already, some of you are already on the wane of caring I imagine, but here's a refresher on just WHY this whole debate about gay marriage is completely bullshit.

The Angie Zapata case

Apropos me
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090423/ap_on_re_us/us_transgender_slaying

GREELEY, Colo. – A man who claimed he snapped before killing a transgender woman was swiftly convicted of first-degree murder and a hate crime Wednesday for savagely beating the woman with a fire extinguisher.

Allen Andrade, 32, of Thornton, was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being convicted of killing Angie Zapata, 18. The jury deliberated for just two hours before finding Andrade guilty.

I've been following the Zapata case for a while-- off and on, but following none the less. It was a disgraceful and horrible act, and I'm glad the asshole who killed her got the ruling he deserved. I'm glad the Gay Panic card didn't get him any leverage, and that his loose lips only fucked him further. There's no excuse for what he did.

So yeah, wow, I've been asked to co-present a workshop on Queers In Punk at the UC Davis Queers Of Color conference in San Francisco. Totally fucking outstanding! So if you're in San Francisco (Kenne), I'll be coming down from at least April 2-3, hopefully a bit longer. I just need to get the money for it, haha.

I'm so freaking stoked, this post really doesn't give it justice.

EDIT: Because my day wasn't already amazing enough, I saw this video. Now you have to too.

Apropos me
When I knit, I tend to listen to hardcore and metal. Bands like Ignite, Walls Of Jericho, and Lagwagon.

Oh, and since I'm posting I ought to note: Due to money constraints, everyone who signed up for a free sketch or print is gonna have to wait 'til the first week of January before I ship them out. They're not all done anyway, but still.

And thanks to [info]wildannuette for the Jayne/Wash drabble! Very cute ^_^ I loved it.

Going into Seattle tomorrow to join the protest. Will be taking a shitload of photos (ten rolls, just like when I went to Pride, incidentally). Hear it's gonna rain. Should be fun.

If you're there, call or text me-- 818.282.6308 so I can get you in on the photo fun. I'll be there with my dyke friend/drummer of Apropos, Alicia.

KABOOM!
Here I lay, all metal springs and discomfort. A tune playing-- his tune-- and I pretend we're having a connection. In my mind, despite creeping rationale, we could be together. He is auburn bearded and adorned with fashionable scarves and a houndstooth jacket. He is ideal. I am desperate and sorry, or so I play it. I build belief and dispel it in the same moment. I blame the web for having done this to me. In a better world, I would never have seen he and we would never be in my mind. I am mournful.

He sings songs of kisses gone unrequited. I write songs of things impersonal. We are the same and different. I fall in lust again. He is riding a bicycle for his beliefs, I am badly out of shape. It could never be. I call myself pathetic for even feigning half-authenticity in my desires. I blame technology again. I am frustrated.

He seems cool without even trying. I feel uncomfortable and wracked with guilt for even considering I may feel the same way about myself at times. He sings in French and it makes me forget. I remember I dated a Frenchman-- a Quebecois actually-- and I scowl. He is Canadian, too. It could never be. Distance alone pushes the idea out of my head.

I continue to listen to his voice and remiss any further desire. He is but a five-minute thing for me.

There will be slash

Pelvic thrust!
I just found out Liev Schreiber is playing Sabretooth opposite Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Wolverine movie. I didn't know this. I totally gay-geekgasm'ed.

Let me just illustrate:

Now imagine them being mutants and kicking ass (read: murdering people). You understand my position now, right?

Oh yes, there will be slash.

Apropos me
Met a new friend today! New as in we'd talked about online a bit, but today was the first time we've met in person. This guy named Ken, AKA Melanie. He wants to be a she, but he still doesn't like to wear dresses in public. Eh, I hope (s)he gets comfortable enough to start that or she'll probably never feel comfortable-- or she'll realize she doesn't like it, and go back to being a he. Either way, the guy's cool.

Ash and I went to meet him at the mall. DAY OF WIN! Ash bought an expensive phone for not-too-bad of a price. She's worried Nate'll be angry she spent so much money, but it's for a good reason, so... But the thing that was best was the guy who was helping her out was way hot. Donovin, or something. He was a cool dude-- talked about tats, zombies, shit like that. And the girl working with him was way cool too, haha. They both won.

Then we got to Suncoast and THOSE guys won too! Kept talking shit with them while they helped us look for movies, and talked about shitty customers in retail. Hella neat.

And the guy at Hot Topic? He kinda won as well. Everyone who helped us out at the mall today were just way too cool, it was insanely awesome.

What DOESN'T win-- and in fact fails-- is when we were driving down Pearl and the car in front of us suddenly changes lanes to the right, and we see in front of us is the VW van with one headlight bearing down on us-- on a one-way street! My mind couldn't comprehend for a second. We changed lanes, and the people behind us as well, and everything was okay but... seriously, man, that was fucking stupid.

THINGS I GOT:
- Machine Gun Girl (!!!)
- Countdown To Wednesday comicbook documentary
- Punk O Rama - The Videos Volume 1
- A Germs tee-shirt

Day of win.

Addendum: 11:22 Day of win continues.

We were talking about our friend Dee converting to Mormonism, which Eric was excommunicated from a few years ago.

Me: Yeah, Dee is totally Mormon now.
Eric: NO! Give me her phone number! I must save her soul!
Ash: She's been baptised!
Eric: I must save her soul, though!
Ash: No.
Eric: Then can I get my ears pierced?
Ash: Okay.
Eric: Horray!
